Desert Light Christian Church Pastor Eric Villanueva
Today, Thursday May 7, is the National Day of Prayer, established into law by Congress in 1952 requiring the president to sign a proclamation each year encouraging all Americans to pray (36 U.S.C. _ 119) on this day.
God gave us a promise:
“If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14).
2 Chronicles 7:14
Let’s set aside time from the day today and pray for the US and New Mexico:
1. Pray for unsaved people-“God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:3-4).
2. Pray for unity among Christians and churches-“That they might be one” (John 17:21).
3. That abortion will end- “The LORD called me before I was born while I was in my mother’s womb…” (Isaiah 49:1).
4. That violence would cease- “Blessed are the peacemakers” (Matthew 5:9).
5. End to addiction- “The truth will make you free” (John 8:32).
6. Blessing on economy and education- ” This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success” (Joshua 1:8).
7. Against witchcraft- “Greater is He that is in you” (1 John 4:4).
8. Racial reconciliation- “And he made from one man every nation of mankind” (Acts 17:26).
Please pray for our fellowship at Desert Light that as we return to meet on May 17,we will be excited, joyful, and worship together like never before, WITH OUR EYES ON THE LORD, and full of love for each other!
