Yahweh Tsidkenu, “The LORD, our
righteousness,” is from Jeremiah 23:6 and 30:11. This name has a biblical context.
Human and God’s righteousness are different. One is only declared righteous by God
when God becomes one’s righteousness.
Knowing God and His Names: XI
In the book and movie, A Dog’s Purpose, A devoted dog goes through several lives
and humans it teaches to laugh and love. His conclusion is, “A dog’s purpose is to be
there, now.” The human soul needs an unconditionally loving companion. Otherwise
loneliness attacks.

In Israel, people greet one another saying “Shalom” for hello and goodbye. Israelis
sing the folk song, Hevenu Shalom Aleichem, (we bring peace to you) to welcome people.
It’s a glimpse of how important peace, or Shalom,which means, peace, order and
harmony, wholeness, completeness, prosperity, and tranquility to the Hebrew soul.

YHWH-Roiy or “My Shepherd” says I need to be
watched, cared about, provided for, protected, and stay righteous. This name begins
Psalm 23, the most well known, beloved, and recited passage of the English Bible in the
history of the English language. The Author, David was a shepherd of his father’s flock
before becoming a vicious warrior and then king of Israel, bringing them to be a world
superpower. He named his God YHWH as the one shepherding him.

God. We’ve come to study His special name, YHWH. We’ve looked at some of the names of God that follow YHWH, Jireh or provider, Ropheyka, your healer, Nissi, my banner, Sabaoth, of the armies, Makkadeshkem, the one who makes us holy. Today, we will explore the name that Jesus gave us: “Abba”, or “Father”.
